I got this rose on February 6 at a Valentines party. The flower long since died but I was intrigued to see three little buds sprout and try to grow. So, I plunked it into the ground to see what would happen. I thought it was especially ironic that the party hostess had tied quotes about love around each rose and mine said, "Love is the flower you've got to let grow." John Lennon

So I let the flower grow.

UPDATE: Jackson has since trampled the rose stick. I'm disappointed and kicking myself for not thinking of protecting it better.

My mother purchased rose bushes for each of my girls, not long after they were born. Each bush shares part of it's name with each girl.

Today was deemed the day to come and get them in pots (Val's was moved from our old house; Elaine's has been living at my parents' house.) It was a good day to be in the sun - our first taste of spring.
