Subtleties of parenthood
Yesterday Kem napped for only and hour and a half and so was understandably cranky by dinner time. I fed her half an hour earlier and she played while I got myself something to eat. As I was standing at the sink washing dishes her mood slowly unraveled again and soon she was hanging off my legs bemoaning the fact that I wasn't holding her. Of course when I picked her up she bemoaned the fact that I was holding her. I took a few more minutes to finish what I was doing and during that time Kem finally couldn't take it any longer and so she lay down right there on the floor with her head resting on my slipper. OK Mom, since you're clearly not getting the message I'm putting myself to bed right here and now! Thank goodness for a kid who shows me exactly what she needs. If only it was always so straightforward.

I don't like the moniker "KEM". Let's brainstorm something better.
