I'm astonished with how quickly Kem is growing up. The child care provider told me that she wanted to walk everywhere today (still holding onto a hand; not on her own very much yet.) She is getting better at communicating what she wants (drink or food during dinner.) If I tell her "no" from across the room she freezes and looks up at me and most of the time will stop whatever it was she was doing or about to do. Tonight I attempted combing her hair while she was taking a bath. I only got 3 or 4 really good swipes at her head because she was reaching up and trying to take the comb from me. I gave up and handed her the comb, expecting her to chew on it or wave it around or hit the water with it. She immediately put the comb back up to her head and attempted to comb her own hair. I wasn't even trying to get her to copy me or do it herself. It was all her idea. She has her own ideas! And she's trying to tell me about them! I love it, I love it, I love it. Remind me how much I love it in several years when she's screaming that I don't understand and that I've completely ruined her life.
