Actually, to maintain a healthy immune system, your mother says: eat fresh, whole foods (as close to the source as possible - whether that be the soil, ocean, bird, or beast), cut out nutrient-deficient foods (primarily white carbohydrates and processed fats), drink lots of plain water, get plenty of exercise (preferably in sunshine), sing praises, laugh, meditate on a couple Bible verses, and schedule adequate sleep each day.
