You can't trick Kate. No siree. She knows quite well where she is and she also knows quite well that she prefers to be held. And I prefer to hold her. But I can't hold her all day.
Fortunately/unfortunately Superman was home yesterday and that child didn't spend more than a minute out of someone's arms (usually his.) He didn't mind holding her while she slept because he was working on his computer the majority of the time.
So today she expected the same thing. (Superman was not home today.) Except I have to do things. You know like eat, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, put on clean underwear, etc.. She was not happy about it. She hated the car seat and only sometimes would tolerate the bassinet.
I had to let her cry for 5 or 10 minutes a few times (bathroom! food!) but she got so worked up that she didn't calm down right away even when in my arms again. And I certainly do not believe the cry it out method is appropriate at 2.5 weeks of age. So I wait until she falls asleep on me and then gently set her down and hope to high heaven she doesn't wake up for a couple hours. Then I attack my to-do list complain on my blog.
I've sat on the couch for so long today that my legs hurt now.
And my house is still not ready for the people coming over tomorrow after Kate is dedicated. Time to eat something and then attack the to-do list.
