Contentment

It's not about having what you want, it's wanting what you have.

This is what I've been pondering as we jump back and forth between two very different houses. It's hard to live in a house that isn't my own without imagining how I would do things if it were my own. There are lots of things I like about this house and there are lots of things about this house that make me appreciate my own even more.

My house might be a (very!) far cry from "done" but it's all ours. It reflects quite clearly the decisions we've made and various life stages we've come through. I'm currently wondering whether or not it can handle a third child. 850 square feet isn't a lot for 5 people to share by most people's standards in this city, but 850 square feet with a 2500 square foot backyard is plenty for 6 or more people to share by the standards of much of the world.
